Festiwal Nadziei stanowi kulminacyjny punkt czerwcowych imprez organizowanych przez Liverpool Lighthouse (City Sings Gospel), Uniwersytet Hope (Big Hope) oraz Merseyfest. Organizacje te z³±czy³y si³y, by 14 czerwca zagwarantowaæ wam niezapomniane wra¿enia.
Celem Festiwalu, który zrodzi³ siê z inicjatywy Chrze¶cijan w Wielkiej Brytanii jest pokazanie jedno¶ci ko¶cio³a w regionie Mersey.
Punktualnie o godzinie 10.30 rano, z Katedry Anglikañskiej i Metropolitañskiej w stronê ulicy Hope wyrusz± dwie procesje nadziei. W¶ród uczestników nie zabraknie znanych twarzy ze ¶wiata mediów, kultury, polityki i sportu. Uroczyste obchody rozpoczn± kolorow± zabawê na ulicy. Przez ca³y dzieñ rozbrzmiewaæ bêdzie „muzyka ¶wiata” – gospel, rap, hip-hop, jazz, soul, rock i pop. Na dziewiêciu scenach zaprezentuj± siê arty¶ci z Wielkiej Brytanii, USA, Estonii, Francji, Kongo, Ameryki Po³udniowej, Nigerii i Norwegii. W¶ród tak doborowego towarzystwa nie mog³o zabrakn±æ muzyków z Polski.
Nasz kraj reprezentowaæ bêdzie znana wokalistka jazzowo bluesowa, Magda Piskorczyk. Magda, której ostania p³yta „Magda Live” zdoby³a bardzo pochlebne recenzje, przyjedzie specjalnie na zaproszenie City Sings Gospel. Bêdzie to wyj±tkowa okazja by daæ siê oczarowaæ tej wyj±tkowej wokalistce. Artystka, trzykrotna Bluesowa Wokalistka Roku (wg Kwartalnika „Twój Blues”) o niezwyk³ej barwie g³osu i charyzmatycznej osobowo¶ci zahipnotyzuje nie tylko wielbicieli jej talentu. Koncerty w wykonaniu Magdy i jej zespo³u cechuje porywaj±ca energia i dynamika. FROM CATHEDRAL TO CATHEDRAL, Hope Street in Liverpool will come alive for a massive FREE Gospel Arts street party on the 14th of June.
Gospel artists, musicians and dancers from the UK and around the world are coming to lift the roof off the city with their inspirational music. What better street than Hope Street for a Festival of Hope?
The jam packed day kicks off with a colourful pageant weaving from the Anglican Cathedral and surrounding streets to Hope Street. Church congregations throughout Merseyside are joining together to create this carnival procession.
As the pageant erupts onto Hope Street, entertainers and performers will be getting the crowd warmed up with gospel music, street acts and dance.
Throughout the day the big names in Gospel music will be blasting hits from the main stage, at the Anglican Cathedral. Outside the Metropolitan Cathedral dancers will be leading workshops and performing. The music along Hope Street will span traditional to urban Gospel reflecting modern styles and genres, including hip-hop, rap, jazz, d-j’ing, reggae, as well as cultural and music traditions from South Africa to the South Pacific.
This unforgettable international celebration is a free event for the whole family to enjoy and get involved with. Ykids will run a special kids zone at Blackburn House and there will be a dedicated youth zone elsewhere for graffiti art, street running and other activities.
The Festival of Hope is the culmination of three other events and festivals taking place in Liverpool from the 1st to the 14th - Hope University’s ‘Big Hope’, ‘Merseyfest’ and Liverpool Lighthouse’s ‘City Sings Gospel’. Organisers believe the street party will encapsulate the spirit of all the other events and will be a great way to spread ‘hope’.
